New Octavia VRs Buying Advice Needed

Featured Replies

Hi to everyone. This is my first post so be gentle!

I've had a few VW group cars in the past and am now entering into Skoda ownership having had very little trouble with all my VW group cars in the past (tempting fate now eh!)

I have put a deposit on a Racing Blue VRs with the 18" wheels/dual zone climate/coolbox offer and parking sensors at

I would say opt for the MaxiDot display (do a search on it) and Xenons. But that will be a factory order. MaxiDot is a fancy dot matrix screen on the dash so if you can do without it then fair enough.

I don't think it will be a 2008 model either but I don't think it will make that much difference to the vRS spec anyway. Check that with the dealer.

I checked with the dealer (Underwoods in Colchester - so far very good) and they have confirmed its an 2008 model year car. I'm happy about that!

I'll take the advice on the satnav and cruise (I retro fitted it to my V5 golf with help from a mate - when I say 'help', he did it basically!).

Now which chip shall I punt for.............

The satnav is a doddle mate. There is a pukka roof mounted GPS aerial on offer at the moment as well,

Sounds like a reasonable deal to me.
