39K miles before I had to change my Bridgestones

Featured Replies

Have just replaced the last two original tyres on my Elegance 1.9 tdi. The Bridgestones had completed 39,000 miles, 29,000 on the rear and 10,000 on the front. They were still road legal but at just below 3mm and needed changing.

Now have Continental Sport 2s all round. Very nice handling indeed.

Crikey, my Conti 2's wore out at 17,000 miles, it'll be interesting to see how long yours last :D

My 1.9TDi also just had its last 2 original Bridgestones replaced. They had done slightly more, 40K (30 on the rear, 10 on the front) but had only got 2mm left. It's now got Michelin Premacys all round - much quieter especially on concrete surfaces.

Always amazed at tyre posts like this

Were these OEM tyres of the stone variety? Or perhaps contained granite in the compound? :P

Steve

I had them on my Vectra, the front's did 26k and the rears were half to two thirds gone at 41k when the car was murdered by a DD.

I bought two in July last year. These were fitted to the rear and had completed 10,000 miles before they were moved to the front on Friday . Plenty of meat left on them still.

Really?! I found the Conti's had less grip than my Michelin Pilot Primacies (and they were rubbish!).......

Chris

My exuberant driving style contributed nothing to the rate of tyre wear on my previous Octavia
