VRS pulling to left!!!

Featured Replies

Just lately my vrs has been pulling quite strongly to the left and generally dogging all over the road making it evil to drive. Still had the original bridgestone tyres all roung and fronts were a bit worn. So had a set of zero nero's put on front plus had traking done. Still does it exactly the same. I have adjusted all the trye pressures so they are equal and as the book suggests but little difference.

Also it may just be my imagination but I feel the front end of the car is rolling more and a lot softer then it used to be round the bends. The front end did develop a creak a few thousand miles ago but it cured itself the garage claim they checked it all as per my request but i'm not so sure.

Any ideas/advice would be apreciated

One of ours was pulling to the left, badly. I read up on it on this forum and a small pull to the left seems quite common. We had the wheel alignment (tracking) checked and adjusted. There were a couple of problems. Different data bases had different values and tolerances. One place had old equipment and did not do it properly. Eventually had it done with the latest four wheel laser rig and it was set to parallel after advice from somewhere and it is now perfect. Your problem may be more serious, but tracking is a starting point. One person told me they all pull to the left because the cars specification is set to right hand Continental driving where the camber is opposite - don't know if this is true or not.

Thats interesting thanks for info. It was tracked on a latest job 4 wheel lazer aligner though I guess the machinery is only as good as its operator. The pulling to the left is also very much a new trait for my car it used to go straight!

Suspension arm/Bushes?

My polo started pulling to one side and it turned out to be the bushes on the suspension arm were worn. (although my car is much older than yours (1998))

Nothing would surprise, a heavy car with a powerful motor and too soft a suspension I would imagine it puts a lot of load on the suspension parts.
