Superb Arrives Today!!!

Featured Replies

The replacement for our great 1.6 Octy Ambiente arrives at 7 this morning... it's a 2.0TDi 140 Elegance in Black Magic with privacy - 7 months old..... can't wait! (hence message being sent at stupid o'clock!). :D

Enjoy.....although mine is only a lowly classic (still has more toys than an Octy elegance) I love it to bits.

just remember to give a 50 mile blast every now wnd then to clear the DPF

Oh and don't forget the pictures

I picked my Superb up on Saturday. Mine too is the 2.0TDi Elegance in black magic with sunset glass. It is much better than the old Audi A4.

Cheers diamondicemx... The car's great, but very disappointed to report that as soon as I started off for the first drive, it was obvious that the Aircon didn't work. A mate of mine owns a major bodyshop and they checked-out the gas levels and pressure and they were fine, as were the relays and fuses. They noted that the Clutch on the compressor wasn't engaging though, so they checked the electrics, and they concluded the relevent switch is probably the cause as it doent seem to be sending a signal to the compressor..... so no cold air. So, off to the nearest dealer and on the way there and the Airbag light came on! Great! Two local dealers can't even look at the car till next Friday - and no courtesy car for three weeks - so the suppling dealer is now collecting it Monday and giving me a demo, and back the Ele goes to t'North to be rectified.

Also the car was badly prepared; the Diamondbrite I paid for was applied without the bodywork being clayed or treated with an orbital polisher or even a mop, so all the scratches that were on the car are now just embedded under the glaze; the interior prep was also poor - scuff marks on the door pockets, dirty marks on other plastic parts and dash. And the rear rubber mats I paid for and the umbrella were also missing! The dealer has been really apologetic to be fair, and I do have the confidence they will get it right - but a big let down nevertheless. :(

Thnaks for the advise Octygone - I'll be doing more than 80 miles a day via the M3/M4/M25/A3 so I HOPE the DPF "thing" wont be an issue!

Roto,

I'll name 'n' shame if they DON'T rectify the issues and compensate me for the inconvienence and costs. I think it's only fair the have this opportunity to do this.

Some may argue it's not a new car, so what do I expect? I expect their part of the contract to be upheld. And it's 7 months old.

Cheers... Num

OK Fair enough. I bought my Superb as a 2 year old and stipulated before taking delivery that everything should be tested - and work. It did, and still does.

Keep us informed as to progress with your warranty work and by all means name and shame if justified. I'm fed up with VAG dealers taking a lot of our hard earned cash and doing very little in return.

Sounds like a certain York dealer.

OK - all the faults and problems have been rectified by the dealer and to make sure is doesn't get damaged or dirty - they've put it in the showroom - see below! Looking nice I hope you agree? Anyway, the dealer is returning it on Monday early AM to my office - in Reading.

I have to say that Benfield in Harrogate have been absolutely first class in every respect in the past week. Frankly, I wish more dealers took customer service as seriously as this company does - I doubt that many dealership General Managers would take the time to take charge of the complaint, personally oversee the remedial works, take all my many calls and keep me fully informed everyday by email. Can't recommend them enough.

Final report on Monday!

Cheers AG - I think it probably will be! On the basis they're 280 miles from where I live, it may be a struggle to get them to service the car - but I'd like to give them the business. The service manager was also great, very honest and apologetic. Just wish they had a dealership in Surrey!:D

Looks ab fab. Always liked black with the light interior - very classy.

Cheers - it was a hard decision actually, due to having a 6'.2" golf mad 16 year-old, who doesn't really get "take you mud-clad golf gear off BEFORE you get in the car", but decided it looked so good with the black exterior, we'd take the risk!:)

Your new car looks stunning - have fun when you get it!

I'm pleased to report that the car was waiting for me when I arrived at the office @ 6.15 this morning and and that the mechanical issues are all fixed - cold AC - yipee!. The bodywork is in better condition too - the new "ding" that appeared in the NSF wing has gone, as have a number of the stonechips - but the scratch on the bootlid and NSR wing are both still there, albeit they have been improved. The interior is cleaner too, but will benefit form a deeper amount of time on the leather and carpets. So, I am really quite happy - both to have the car back, and from the service from Benfield in Harrogate - Nigel Clayton, the GM, has been outstanding, (John, the delivery driver, told me that Nigel personally delivered a car to a customer in Liverpool late Friday) and he also left a huge supply of Diamondbrite cleaning items in a nice holdall on the back seat by way of an apology, which was really nice... Their customer service has been outstanding.

So, I look forward to many happy trouble-free miles - and hours of cleaning and detailing too! (and our son will be over the moon to get his golf clubs back, that I left in the boot last Monday!!!)

Glad you got there in the end, just keep it looking as good :)

That's easier said than done. Black cars look fab when they're gleaming, but they never stay that way for long enough. Lovely looking car, but I'll never buy a black car again!

Depends how you clean them, and the products you use.

Mine is black and people often ask if I clean it every day?

Even when dirty (to me) it still shines well :)
