What foods can you use to clean your car?

Featured Replies

Following on from this thread which mentions using Peanut Butter to clean plastic trim, I was wondering what other foodstuffs you could use to clean your car.

So,

Peanut Butter - Plastic trim.

Lemon Juice - Window Glass.

Any more? :)

Chocolate - restores colour to cream seats ;)

Vinegar - Glass/wipers, as per lemon.

I have heard that grape juice is a good mild all over surface cleaner prior to a wash, but I'm not trying it.

Salt or white wine on Red winr spills? Ok, tenuous for a car cleaner!

Would chunky peanut butter work as a polish/paint cutter?

Phil

butter to remove tar marks.

I'm sure you can clean stuff with bicarbonate of soda - maybe makes a good fabric cleaner if diluted in water....?

Need some auld wives to come on and tell us more.

Toothpaste doubles as t-cut !

EDIT: not strictly a food stuff i know :D

Bicarb is great for getting rid of smells in carpets and on upholstry. Sprinkle and leave fror at lteast 2 minutes then hoover off.

dab marmite all over your car to look like tar spots, then wipe off with a piece of bread and eat.

Hey Presto, a clean car and breakfast as well

A good Chicken and Spinach Bhuna is good for removing the wax!!
