fabia vrs tyres

Featured Replies

hello people can anybody tell me what tyres my fabia vrs should have as standard please???:) size profile rating make etc

Standard alloys will be 205/45x16W on 6.5J rims. Original tyres will vary - I think the factory just put the first matching set of 5 they can find on the car.

can anybody suggest a good tyre???

PIRELLI - PZERO NERO

I've heard very very good things about Eagle F1's

Either Eagle GS D3 or Toyo Proxes T1-R. I have the eagles fitted and they are good. But I am going to get T1-R fitted in a month when mine need changing. They are also quite cheap in comparison too.

Toyo T-1rs are far better than the F1 d3's. Much more rigid sidewalls and better traction.

I found the F1's a bit squishy under cornering :( I also like my Falken 452's but not sure how much they cost in that tyre size.....

Chris

you can get good tyres these days without paying over the odds

just make sure you dont get hedgekan..... i mean nankangs!

Or Wanli ditchfinders

Wow there's some cheap tyres there, are the Hankooks and Maranteliottiflotti - Italian sounding ones seriously any good? They look nice.

Lots of people rate the Toyos, and I might try them when I change, my preference in the past has been the Goodyear Eagle F1 though. Steering precision is sweet. Just don't get Continentals (why do they fit them?!!?!?!)

Andy.

With tyres rotate the fronts to the rear after 5k and keep repeating that until the 4 are down to the limit /near the limit then buy a new set of 4 tyres, that way you will get a bigger discount.

A good place to buy Michellin Exaltoc 2's are costco every Feb/Mar & Sept/Oct they have a big sale on them.

FYI - mine are 225/45 R16 (highest speed rating) and the current set I bought from Costco worked out to be

Welshy, do you have a Furby vRS? are your wheels standard? if so what affect does putting 225 tyres on have since the standard fit is 205? Isn't 225 wider? I kind of like the way the sidewalls sit right flush inline with the rim at 205, do you get more 'kerb protection' with 225's !!?

Just wandered if it's a good 'mod'

Andy.

I would imagine a 225 tyre on a std Fabia vRS rim would be somewhat flabby and probably pinch in the middle leading to uneven tyre wear.

Not to mention the RR would be out by a fair bit.
