computer to tv question

Featured Replies

hey i want to connect my tv to my computer. now the thing is that it is a fully hd tv so it has 1080p resolution. will i have the settings in my computer to run it correctly on my tv or will i see loads of pixels or square corners or will it be fine and good quality? if not how do i sort it out?

Set your computer resolution to 1920x1080 with 50hz refresh and everything should be fine.

As Manny said :) You'll need to get yourself a DVI to HDMI lead and it should all work fine. Depending on your graphics card, you may only have 60Hz refresh rate though...

well its a sony tv and it runs 60hz np as thats what the xbox puts into it. i dont think i need that comverter theing as the tv has a monitor input on the back exactly the same as on a monitor.

If you use that connection you wont get HD out you will only get it through an HDMI connection. Also iirc only the Nvidia 8800GTX supports True HD out.

tbh im not to bothered if i dont get full hd on it as i dont think my comp is capable of hd. all i want is the picture on my 40inch to be as good as on my 17inch monitor. will i get that or what do u think?

Well i put my laptop onto my 50inch plasma and get perfect picture quality (but im using the HDMI connection not the VGA connector(monitor one).

As long as you have got a graphics card that supports the resolution your trying to display you should get the same quality. I play need for speed carbon on mine with all quality settings to full and the image quality is exactly the same as on the 17inch screen on my laptop
