Rattle in the Blower

Featured Replies

My Fabia (02 reg, 1.4, 8v) has developed a rather disconcerting rattle in the blower. Sounds like there is a loose fan or something that rattles away behind the dash whenever the blower in on. It gets louder and worse the higher up you turn the blower.

Anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing this? Is it going to be a major job to sort out?

Thanks!

Could be a leaf.

Remove the glovebox and drop out the pollen filter.

If that fails, do this.

Effectively followed those instructions the other week with Skudmissile and removed the offending leaf that was making my dash vibrate. Now, since the weekend my fans whistle instead! ARRRGGH.

So gonna have to take the glovebox off again and see who's fitted a bloody kazoo in there.

Thanks guys, I'll try to follow instructions and locate the offending leaf.

Cheers

Just to confirm, I fixed my whistling last night. The pollen filter cover (the L shaped bit with the slidy clips that covers the thing under the dash) wasn't on properly and air was coming out from the sides of it making the whistling noise. Fitting these things properly is a black art. :D
