Altitude Correction

Featured Replies

I have a 2.0 SLXI which has always had the engine managament light on. I bought a replacement MAF which didn't cure it. After using it for a year my dad helpfully pointed out it was missing a part and was no good. Up to that point i'd had mixture too rich fault. Now I have a brand new MAF and its showing mixture too lean which is what it was with the original MAF from when I bought the car. So i'm thinking its not the MAF

From previous posts, Lummox has mentioned the altitude correction in the ECU. Is this something I can test with VAG-COM (the free version and Ebay USB cable)? Was this a fault that should have been fixed under original warranty or something?

I think the other possibility is the bank 1 Lamda sensor. How easy is this to change myself and how much is the part likely to cost me?

does the 2.0 even have altitude correction?? i thought it was only the turbocharged engines that had a barometric sensor:confused:
