312mm conversion - done

Featured Replies

I've finally done the brake conversion and now have done about 400 miles and under normal use I don't notice much difference but if you need to stamp on the pedal they are quite a lot more powerful so it seems worthwhile.

I used the Britax brake box kit for a TT off Ebay and that all was ok - one side took about 3 hours (no problem just kept raining:mad: ), the other about 1/2 hour:) .

Thanks to Mluton and Lummox for pictures and DGW for torque settings, also Gary at Fenland Breakers was helpful/knowledgeable about bits and what I was doing.

I did also get the splash/stone guards off a TT but they do not fit as not enough mounting bolts.

Good work mate

Well done. Never really done the conversion for stopping power just for pedal feel.

As I say it doesn't really feel any different till you try hard, then its def. better. Pads were worn down and discs had done 41k so just seemed a good time - and was worth it.

Might be down to the pads or the fact my std brakes where fooked.

swmbo noticed the firrence striaght away.

trust me m8.. excellent mod if you need to stop quick.. especially if u are remapped.. :D

Brake shields aren't mandatory, and don't really do much other than keep some water off the inside of the discs.

i did the 312mm converstion a couple of weeks ago with a mate, and the brakes have never felt soo good. Their way better than the standard ones and you barely have to press the pedal now.
