Well, i'd like to fit a briskoda sticker in the window but every time i try to get on the site my pc crashes. Apart from that i've got some sporty 'Winnie the pooh' blinds in the back windows for my son and a comfy cushion on the drivers seat for my dodgy hips (due to a roll in a field with my bmw 11 years ago, came out alive but with 2 artificial hip joints !!! )

Welshy, if your reading this I had no idea that BMW's were so advanced they did surgery on you after an accident. Ill take 3

BTW welcome to the forum mac67

Sorry to sound sceptical, but how do you know what the power and torque figures are if the work was done at your home?

Do you have a rolling road in your garage?

Also, was the mpg figure caluculated from one full tank to the next,or is it the on board computer read out?

Whatever the figures are,it sounds like you're really enjoying your motor. And that's what it's all about.

Nice post!

Possibly, it could have been, an estimated power hike, Like what all other Tuning companies give?

well I have an angel map on my GP..... they say it's 170bhp, and what reason would I have to say it's not? they develop and test their own maps, so they must analyse the data as they are developing it.... they said they could map mine to 190bhp, but it would eat the clutch... they've done extensive testing (more than 70k on a 1.9 multijet like mine) , so I'm sure if they use the same map they have developed, on the same engine, they will get very similar power results... unless your car is knackered, surely this will be the case, its just maths, the same way that the standard map on a fabia will constantly give 130 bhp.....

Couldn't have put it better myself 'Sharky' !!! These guys are experts with years of experience and have done hundreds of Fabia VRS's and as you quite rightly said if they put a tried and tested map on the same car they've always done they should get the same results they've always got. I'm very happy with the performance both power and mpg (which was taken off the car's computer, i cant be ar*ed working it out). :P

How have you guys found the clutch and DMF which the Angel remap?

I have no problems whatsoever with the re-map, clutch is fine and no vibration either

:D :D :D :D :D :D

Don't get him started! I can see it now:

"I was reading in BMW Lovers International today that the stock First Aid Kit for the 1-series has now been replaced by a complete field hospital. Not only does this improve post-crash survivability, but also provides a 17bhp increase in the output on the 120d, along with a 13mpg improvement in fuel economy..."

You gotta love 'im!;)

Speaking of BMW's the new 123d 201bhp and 369lbf is coming out very soon again ave mpg is 56mpg...

This is going to be a very special car twin turbo charged - sequential turbo charged to get it correctly.

I wonder why every other make just cannot compete - BMW just keep rolling out better and better models while the competition are just trying to match the older model.

BMW have really done the brand justice with their fantastic diesel engines and deserve the name as the best engine makers of the world.

I had my fabia vrs remapped from Angel as well, Its amazing!

Respect to you for your broad shoulders!

Although 201bhp and 369lbf from a 2.0 diesel unit is arguably no more of an achievement than VW getting 170bhp from a 1.4l petrol. Or indeed the Charade GTti's 110bhp out of its 1.0l petrol - and that was something like 15 or 20 years ago!

As you probably remember from previous discussions on here, the stated economy is quite possibly down to the powertrain being developed with the assessment tests in mind rather than the demands of ordinary driving. To my mind, it's a bit like the National Curriculum being geared towards training kids to pass exams rather than actually teaching them things. So just as today's school leavers are viewed as having "qualification depreciation" by employers and universities, I reckon BMW's claimed mileages will be found out sooner or later...

But anyway, that's nothing to do with this thread! ;):D

Dont VAG advertise similar combined cycle yet magazines dont come near?

IIRC a month or so ago Autoexpress had a MPG athon and put the claimed mpg vs actual real world driving on all the cars they had tested, the 335d coupe was nearly bang on.

Also clearly if the engine is cut every time the car is stationary and in neutral it is burning less fuel than if an engine was running - clearly.

Didnt BMW win engine of the year with the 535d and then again the following year with the 335d?

no problams, because its a 1.9 multijet in a fiat ;) (no problems with the partical filter either :) )

What has this got to do with angel tuning? your off your trolly mate!

535d & 335d & 123d are the best diesels in production today & clearly the best period.

RWD great looks and reliability but its pricy.

its too easy to wind people up here.

A suprechips person told me that BMW always overstate their power whereas VW group are always understate. The reason given was that VW engine power is stated when there is full loading from anything that takes power hence that available fro drive is less. BMW power ratings are for just the engine without it running anything else.

Possibly so, but as Skudmissile's pointed out, it's naff-all to do with Angel remaps! :D Not that I'm entirely innocent on this thread, but there's off-topic and there's OFF-TOPIC! ;)

Interesting what Superchips seem to think of BMW's stated vs. actual performance figures, though!

Back on topic.

I'm also very happy with my angel tuned vRS. No clutch problems. Have done over 30k now (20k with myself being the wheel).

Never got to drive a standard one, but you catch many cars out with the instant-go, including my STi.

Convinced a colleague to get his done. He's also very happy!

Well done Angel.

......... and here, another two very happy Angel Tuning customers ! :)

We've two vehicles which have both been re-mapped by Angel Tuning, it has transformed them both and not a hint of trouble clutch or otherwise with either of them.
