Fabia vRS with Euro 4 engine

Featured Replies

Today, I had a test drive in a standard spec Dec 06 reg Fabia vRS with 5K miles OTC.

Compared with my standard spec Jan 05 reg with 25K miles OTC the test car certainly seemed quieter and generally more refined. Could this be attributable to the test car's Euro 4 engine or, more than likely, it's due to the fact that the test car has only done 5K miles?

Have other members had a similar experience with vRS's fitted with the Euro 4 engine?

have to agree , my brother has a 56 plate VRS and its a lot smoother/quieter than my 04 plate , gearbox is nicer to use also

What will mine have and how do I find out?? It's a 55 reg, registered in sept or oct 05.................... It seems quite quiet to me!! Nice new pic ric.

Well documented running issues with the EURO4 BLT engine due to EGR quantities required to meet emission limits.

i think it was vehicles made in 2006 onwards which were euro4 compliant

pic taken halfway down the pit wall , its a hell of a hill down from La Source hairpin to Eau Rouge , a drop of 87 metres in 700 metres of track ,1:8

Ric do you have the pic in a large size I want a good look at that bad boy....!!!!

pics as requested ,

Sorry, I don't follow. My understanding is: "running issues" implies "ongoing problems". How does that fit-in with my impression of refinement?

I dont know about refinement but most seem to think the EURO4 engines are poor in comparison to the EURO3 ASZ engines.

As my brother says (ric04VRS) my '56er is very smooth! My fathers and ric's '04s just aren't as smooth as mine from idle. The gearbox is the best I have driven with.

But mine is just one example...
