Fabia VRS oil change 10000 miles or now?

Featured Replies

Hi

My Fabia has covered 2600 miles since January. In the past I have had oil changes on cars once they have began to 'run in.'

I have heard that now the common thought is to leave the oil change until it's first service which is 10,000 miles.

Anyone out there have any opinion on this?

Many thanks

Simon

Leave the oil until the first service. The PD-engined Octavias on variable servicing can go up to 30,000 miles between oil changes.

Thanks for the advice.

I'd keep the oil and only bother changing it at the first service as Denis mentioned.

However, it pays to keep an eye on the level. VW TDi blocks can drink a fair amount of oil when they're running in.

At 3000 miles, I needed to top up half a litre. Bought the uber-expensive longlife oil for consistency, although it appears variable servicing is not a possibility after all.
