Otka's clutch was replaced and when I went to pick her up I saw a pre registered Laurent and Kermit in metallic blue for

What, doesn't anyone want to talk to me any more?

Have I become so much of a Briskoda pariah so soon?

Oh the shame...

Probably because the decision to allow your head to rule your heart is at the back of most people's minds at present , bearing in mind the current world situation .

All those people who have already bought a Skud , made a very wise choice to enjoy while they can , because I fear that such luxuries in the future may well be beyond most people's pockets .

However , I live in N Wales and 8 out of 10 cars are diesel , so if there are queues at the pumps again , hopefully there will still be unleaded left when I arrive ! The other problem with diesel is that most of the essential services and the armed forces use it , so that although you may get more miles to the litre , there won't be much to buy .

Pessimistic ? ... I remember 1973-4 , I had just bought my dream car 2 litre mk2 Vitesse with O/D ........ a year later I was driving a Mini !

Let's hope I'm a boring old f*** and I am wrong ...........

Don't anyone be too eager to judge until you have sat inside an L&K.

It's feel very special in there. All the leather and the chrome and stuff. And on the outside it has cool zenon lights.

Combine that with a torquey diesel engine and it will be a very pleasent car to live with, all it needs is a nicer stereo.

Voted "traitor", by the way.

Some of you may have gathered we have just bought 2 Octavias, A 4x4 for the basis of a project & a L&K Diesel for my wifes work car.

If we had to choose just one of them I afraid to say it would be the L&K. Its so pleasant to drive (god I'm getting old) cheap to run, its so much car for the money & can be chipped to 150 bhp if you want more poke (same as the 4x4 std)

Re prices we have just paid 14596 for a new L&K estate (no extras). The dealer matched the best Internet price (15096) & then we got 500 back for not electing to take the free insurance.

Where else can you get that kind of value, Jumped in the car the other night, switched the leather seats on warm, clicked on the xenons, turned onto the Motorway, set cruise to 75, switched on a laid back cd & cruised effortlessly along @ about 55 mpg to a restaurant 20 miles away

Still, got to thrash the 4x4 to Jabba next Saturday to talk options !!!!! , I just cant seem to cure the speed addiction !!

Lucky

Dont worry about your choice , the L&K is a class act , remember its also 'semi hand built' , alongside the 4x4 and RS , in the Vlachabi plant. Ive sat in one , a black magic 1.8T sedan with the tan leather (BTW which colour leather have u gone for , Black is also now availible on the L&K) , which looks the biz on the dark blues and greens , along with the black. The xenons are great as well , along with the Superb/Audi style info panel in between the clocks. Oh ... and im sure Jabba could sort you out a chip!!!:D

Mr D I have gone with Cream leather (not alacantara) I didn't know that black was available until you said! I may have opted for a sliver one if that was the case!

Nah, I have to have that 'pipe and carpet slippers' cream leather man. I was born for it.

Oh it'll just be like lying in a big cup of hot Ovaltine, I can't wait.

And the Jabba thing? Well, I am way ahead of you ther old chap...:D

Lucky

The tan leather will look great on ur dark blue beast! I cant believe anyone would take the cloth trim when leather is free...maybe a fact borne out by your dealer being desperate to shift a non leather car onto you! Hope to see some pics of her when you pick her up!

Well I thought the alacantara stuff felt a lot like suede (it looks like a shammy leather!).

The cream and blue looks absolutely gorgoeus and I was well struck on the two colours together. In fact I would only allow the cream leather with the dark Blue metallic and restrict all other L&K's to black leather (its for the best).

I mean, can you imagine any other colour with the cream leather? It would totaly ming!

I am sad to lose Otka, especially after tonight when a Renault Clio Williams (2) with a big pipe and 1" susepnsion springs got smacked down in a major way in a 60mph two lane roll-one from Chester-le-Street to the Arniston Centre.

Do they ever learn?

Today I have just driven around Newcastle with the window down (despite the rain) listening to the turbo whistle as I planted the throttle.

I am really going to miss Otka...:(

Lucky

Youre not thinking of changing your mind again are you? Im sure you will love the L&K just as much if you give it time!

Eucalyptus & tan also looks the business. (but I'm biased.)

Dmac, you know how excited I was 6 months ago when I was taking delivery of Otka, nothing can replace that. If it wasn't for Otka I wouldn't be here and I wouldn't be doing the L&K thing. I have a lot to thank Otka for.

However. I already have a toy. A toy that gives me performance that few people ever get to experience and I cannot justify such a great car as Otka being just a 'round the doors workhorse'.

Otka should go to someone who will appreciate the performance and use it more often.

Maybe owning a diesel will stop me being so mechanically abusive too.

Mr J, is your L&K (I presume you have one) a TDI too?

Lucky

I know what you mean , as , if it wasnt for the RS , I wouldnt be a Skoda-holic now!!

Yep, the L&K or should I say the Wifes L&K is a TDI
