Wheel Refurb

Featured Replies

Just booked my S3 wheels in for a refurb at Lap Tap in Birmingham next week. Took advantage of their July offer (the same one that appears on the website every month) of a 25% discount, so it's

Hi Col,

Before and after pictures would be great if you can manage it.

Both:D

7.5x17" with 215/40/17 Parada 2's rear and 7x17" with 205/40/17 front.

I'll be putting my 'summer' wheels on soon which will be 8.5 and 7.5x17, i'll use the same tyres....

Thanks schrickvr6.

I'm thinking that 7.5" may be a little too wide for the 205 tyre, but from what I've read it's the maximum recommended rim width so should be okay (and I'm too tight to buy 215's)

205 is the closest rolling radius to standard though, so I'd prefere them.

Do you notice any difference between the 205 on the 7" and 7.5" rim?

I take it that you're also using lowered and uprated suspension with the ARB mod?

No problemo.

A 205 would be fine on a 7.5 but the rim will be a bit exposed as it already is on a 7". But as for physically fitting yeah it would be perfectly ok.

A 215 on a 7.5, i've found some tyres will give full rim protection and others not...

I'm running Bilstein PSS coilovers and a Wieschers lower wishbone brace bar, which many will say can not be used as it's too low, i've slightly grazed it a few times but otherwise it's been fine. No rear ARB yet but funnily enough i think i'm going to order myself a Whiteline adjustable rear bar this afternoon. :D I've also got some Powerflex front ARB bushes on the way to replace the knackered originals.

Yeah i have used laptab they are excellent, they powdercoated my civic type r wheels in charcoal finish was top notch, i would recommend them everytime
