tyres

Featured Replies

Hi people, needing a new set of tyres for my 51 plate 2.0 octavia elegance 16" alloys (cant afford the vrs yet only 22), what do you recommend for best handling? i was looking at the goodyear eagle F1's, anyone tried these?

Welcome to Briskoda.

try the search, might throw up some results.

Running an Elegance myself. Very pleased with the Toyo Proxes T1-R, but would recommend going up 2 or 3 PSI from the plate recommendations if you go this route.

I have the Goodyears fitted all round. Brilliant in the wet. That's the main reason I bought them. They really inspire confidence in the rain. Dont last as long as other tyres but I accept that.

my vote is for F1's too, From my experience it's about the best allround road tyre you can buy for the money.

I`d go for the Toyo`s if your after excellent handling myself, but its all down to personal preference. Ive got Barum Bravuris on my TDi because i do a lot of autobahn miles. Brilliant in the wet, long life (400 rated) and around

Barums are fine, up until you have to do an emergency stop in the wet, or an emergency lane change. I had Barums on my old Xantia, changed them for Toyos, and completely transformed the wet braking and turn-in (for the better).

Also another vote for the Toyos, I used to own a high-powered Corsa with an engine transplant and could not fault them - even got 2 replaced FOC for newer 'r' versions after the 's' ones started to crack at the base of the tread, thats service!

Toyos great grip, turn in etc

Got 7k out of a set !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And i don't hammer it often
