Footwell Lights or LEDS !!! HELP

Featured Replies

Do the lights connected to the side lights circuit go off when main beams are on?

No they don't , they stay on all the time that the side lights are on

Door sill ones just directly connected to the red light that's in the bottom corner of the doorcard (ie the factory puddle light/saftey light). takes all of 2mins to connect them up!!

The boot ones are just connected to the OEM boot light, yes.

Sorry buddy, I don't have red ones, just this bluey/white colour

Where did you get these from mate? I'd love to do a similar mod, was it easy? Looks wicked!

Although with a little thought and use of a relay it's easy enough to get them to turn off when the main beams are on if you so desire.

I can sell them buddy, £13 for two led strips posted (so that's enough for the front doors)

This is what my LED strips look like up close.

12volt, approx 50cm long leds strip, ultra slim, rubber coating, water resistant, flexible, self adhesive backing (stick straight onto pretty much anything that's clean and smooth), you can also cut them down in length if too long. So versatile you can pretty much stick them anywhere in/on the car. Just connect them directly to any 12volt feed. As you can see I have connected them directly to my car's boot light, and also door card puddle lights.

Sweet! So did you use the same ones for the footwell lighting also?

Just looked on ebay and there are loads of options on there at stupidly low prices - £1.79 with free postage! Thought the green was pretty cool too! Are these no good ...

Was going to attempt the under-door-card puddle spotter lights....only to find that the driver's side microsensor is bust. Seems quite laborious to fix and the part is a bit overpriced. Will definitely work on the footwell lights....trying to deliberate if it's cooler to have them come on with convenience lights or side lights. going for both might be overkill...although Karl has done them very tastefully :D

Another q....the lights you fitted under your seats facing forwards and backwards....how much slack did you put in the wire to make room for seat position adjustments? Or are they stuck to the floor somehow?

omg £1.79!! how the hell do they do that?!

The ones I've got are the higher quality led strips - you get more led's per cm, and they are much brighter per led (you can see from the close up pics).

Give the £1.79 ones a go though, worth a punt for that price

Thanks for the complement. I used some thing similar from www.ultraleds.co.uk for the led £12 for a meter with 60 LEDs on it which can be cut every 3 LEDs.

Just used a strip of 3 LEDs covered in black insulation tape and mounted with double sided tape under the dash.

As for the blue ones under the seat just mounted on a plastic block and Velcro to the carpet so no slack needed.

Also did puddle lights buy using two sets of 3 LEDs. Drilled holes through the plastic on the door trim and hot melted them in place. Poor pic but you get the idea.
