Out of interest and because of increasing left leg sciatica (old age coming on!) I test drove a demo 6 speed Tiptronic Fabia yesterday. I was quite impressed by the car, comfortable, well screwed together and quite nippy. The interior trim on the level 2 car was in a mixture of black and very light grey - I thought it looked terrible and would much prefer an all black or dark grey interior. I definitely wasn't impressed by the fuel consumption. Over a 10 mile trip on mixed roads and never above 60mph, the trip computer average showed only 24mpg. Given that the car was brand new this still seemed extremely low. Hopefully Skoda will eventually bring out a 140bhp DSG diesel version, ideally an estate.

Tiptronic is only available on the 1.6.

Ok cheers. That kind of explains the poor MPG then , a 1.6 Auto is never going to get 40 to the gallon.
