1998 Octy 1600 speedo no worky

Suddenly the speedos stopped working in my Octy The petrol gauge is erratic too, but the tacho and coolant temp appear normal. In the history with the car there's a mention of a new speed sensor being fitted.

Does anyone know where the earth to the clock are?

If the clocks prove to be faulty, can the speedo be changed on its own?

If the whole pod is faulty is the immobiliser built in like other VAG products?
