New HU unit/bluetooth question.

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Been thinking about replacing the standard HU in my mk1 Octy vRS, and possibly the speakers too.

I want/need a handsfree solution too for my mobile.

I have been looking at this: Sony : MEX-BT2500 (MEXBT2500) : United Kingdom

Does anyone have any experience/info on this?

Or should I go for a Parrot and a better unit ie Alpine?

Cheers,

Rob

From past experience, go with Alpine. They cost more money, but if its sound quality your after etc, they are definatly better than Sony. I have had Sony, Alpine and JVC and I would always go with Alpine now.

I have a standard setup in my Superb, but when/if it comes to changing I will go with Alpine for headunit and infinity for speakers!

I've always been pioneer for head units, I have a vibe black air sub and I once had infinity components. I now have some phoenix gold ones which are supposed to be good, but I haven't got round to fitting them yet lol. Sony aren't too bad, never had one myself though.

having run both pioneer and sony in the past my preference is pioneer. although you do tend to get more for your money with sony.

is your decision to change mainly for the blue tooth? if it is then apparently the parrot car kits are very good

at the end of the day it is your choice and depends on what you want to spend

I do need some kind of bluetooth handsfee for sure. And I really want a better sounding sysytem too. I thought it would be the obvious choice to combine the two. I'm still kind of leaning that way as I would save money by not having to pay to get the parrot fitted.

Don't want to spend more than
