I have Kumho KU31's and recently it was flagged up on the MOT that my near side rear tyre is out of shape which would explain the slight noise I've been hearing from that direction!

Is this normal? as I've only had that tyre on for about 4 months and has loads of tread left. Or have you any idea what can cause this??

I've had KU31s before and have all been fine with no complaints.

It's possible you may have hit a pothole..... this could cause damage to the structure of the tyre that you may not have noticed... not ness a problem with the tyre manufacture....

I had some avons on my vRS which I liked, but one developed a split on the inside, only found out when I changed them due to being sick of the vibration! could have blown at any time :( could have been caused by my then knackered control arm bushes.... but I still wont have avons again :(
