Channel, blocks, etc to reset service light

Featured Replies

Mine's on at the moment, and it's just had some fresh oil, and a new fuel filter. :D I always seem to get the manual method wrong so would like to learn the vagcom way to reset the service light. Actually, I'd quite like to be able to remove it from ever coming on ever again, but I doubt that's something I can do. Is there a way to tell it not to come on for 12 months?

Engine 01, adaptation 10 then there are 3 channels to set:

10 set to 100

11 set to 200

12 set to 365

10 and 11 are for milegae which translates into 10000 and 20000 miles respectively.

12 is for days. Theoretically you can set these to whatever you want to suit your needs.

If you have a genuine VAG-COM there is now a 'one touch' reset included in the latest software.

I must really try that one day :D - mine is 'in need for service' but that's coz of the engine swap vs ECU not being in sync I suppose...

I have found that the SRI reset doesn't work on alot of MKI Fabias and Octavias, MKII Octavias and it is joy to use.

You should be able to reset channel 2 to 0 and that should reset the light.

I don't use it myself but I can imagine it would be handy if it was fully supported.

So, that's where I was going wrong?! (I bet it was T20, but I just went through them until I found one that fitted right :D)

I'm going to ask someone to do this for me on Saturday. :o My vagcom has been leant to an ibiza cupra owning mate to run some logs, and I can't be fiddle faddled with the odometer reset button method. :P

The MK1 andf MK2 Octavias should be fully supported now, while the Fabia is still pending... :)

P.S.: @Stu, most of the things you reported recently about the 2008 model should be covered in the latest data update (as of 23rd) too.
