Have just noticed that when I open the driver's door slightly, the red door panel light illuminates, but when the door reaches just before the 1st rest position it goes out, opening the door further to full extent the light still won't come on. :confused:

Passenger side seems to work ok.

Any ideas?

The red light is more of a "door open" warning for other traffic than a puddle light.

As for the problem, it sounds like a dodgy wire or connector to me. Try listening for a cut in the speaker, and function on other electric controls on that door once the light's gone out.
