Bat & Trap anyone ??- September

Featured Replies

ALL S. East people.

I am looking to organise a bat & trap evening on Sept 14th, just before the nights draw in and in place of the ususal Sept meet.

Now the unpopular news :(

There will be a small cost for this and I will confirm within the next week. Also the only real areas that play the game are around Tunbridge Wells, & Canterbury.

For those of you who do not know what Bat & Trap is, here is a brief resume :-

Bat and Trap is a team game with eight players on each side. The "trap" is a rectangular mechanical device that lies on the ground. The batsmen knocks a lever in the trap that shoots a hard rubber ball upwards in front of the batsmen who then smashes it with the bat towards the other side of the pitch. The objective is to make the ball pass between two white posts which are 21 yards away. Normally, the ball bounces once or twice before doing this and is fielded by a member of the opposing side who stand in a line just behind and between the posts. However, in the rare case where a fielder catches the ball without it having touched the ground, the batsman is "caught out". A batsman who misses the ball or otherwise fails to bash it between the posts successfully is also out, this tragedy being termed "knocked out".

Although it says there should be a teams of 8 , I would need at least 12 names to make this worth while ( 6 a side). Once i have 12 names I will then book a B&T pub in the preferred area, and ask for a deposit.

Please register your interest and number below, and area preference i.e TW or Cant.

I will book a pub in the most popular area, so if you are not prepared to make an effort to goto what would not be your first choice, please say.

Closing date for names is Friday 10th August @ 23:59 :)

Dependant on what time, should be able to make this one. SWMBO and the little monster are going to see a show in London.
