full change of speakers

Featured Replies

Hi guys, not to good at the ICE side of things. Want to know how much i would expect to pay to change all speakers in my VRS except the tweeters, maybe put in a sub woofer as well. Looking for a loud, crisp sound with good bass.

Would the head unit need to be changes to ensure good sound quality?

Is there a particular company to go to? and how much is a realistic budget to achieve this?

Cheers felas:thumbup:

I'd just change the front speakers for a decent set of components and maybe add an amp to then as this makes a huge difference.

You'd be silly to leave the tweeters as they add a hell of a lot to the sound.

I'd also look into making baffles for the woofers in the front doors and maybe some sound deadening as well

All this isn't too hard, but adds to the music a lot.

Have a look over on talkaudio. They are to car hifi what bri-skoda is to Skodas ;)

look at rainbow, or focal shallow mount speakers, (saves on cutting door cards), and yes lots of sound deadening in the doors( at least 1 layer on the inner skin), amp up your fronts, and try that for now, you may be tempted to say away from sub bass then. You will need to make an mdf baffel to mount, from memory its 56mm mounting depth
