Thinking about remapping my car and been trying to get insurance quotes.

Most are asking the % increase in power which in my case is 40-50%. Got a 100HP TDi Fabia and can remap to approx 140-150hp.

This % is well in excess of what insurers deem acceptable most seems to think 15-25% is reasonable.

What have other declared as the % increase.

The %age increase is the %age increase and should be declared as such - if you're lying about it then you're committing fraud! If you can't afford the insurance then you can't afford the mod.....

they asked me for the BHP figures, i said it had increased from 130 to 170.....

I would of thought for remaps you will need to phone them?

On a 100TDi it's not going to be over 140bhp unless you get a custom map?

I would have thought say 35% rise would be more realistic
