cambelt change

Featured Replies

Hi,

Could anybody tell me the mileage that i should get the cam belt changed on my 1.4 fabia?

Graeme

Assuming its a 16v then its 60k or four years, both belts and both tensioners.

its the 8v, would that make a difference?

Yes, it doesnt have a cambelt.

The 1.4 8v, as Ross says, doesn't have a cambelt - its chain driven. There is no service interval for the chain - just replace it if it gets noisy.

How about the 1.4PD /TDI - book says one thing, dealers say something else ??

Either 60k or 80k depending on engine number nad build date. Go with 60k and your covered.

So it's more age than mileage -04 plate, with 20k --make any difference ??

Anyway , thanks Lumox - local dealer thinks it's after 4 years, but e's admitted to a charge of 150
