Morning All,

Got my first problem on my Octy today.

When locking or opening the car from the drivers side all doors and the boot open apart from the front passenger door. Even using the door locking button inside the car locks and unlocks all the doors bar this one.

But if i open the car from the passenger side it will open all the doors and the door with the problem and lock them all.

Has anyone got any ideas as i need to get this sorted before i forget and leave it open one night

Its a '98 plate 1.6 GLXi if that helps

I would think its a faulty catch but a fault code check should provide some insight.

Thought it mihgt be door catch.

Stripped all door down today and then found i didnt have the right star drive to remove the catch unit, why are the star drive on this different to every other one on the car lol. :confused:

will local garage be able to get fault codes or will it have to be a delaer job lummox ?

wardy i have the exact same prob too... is ur right side mirror workin?? cos it aint workin for me... and the star drive is ttly diff for the octy... am forcin myself not to take it to the service center here.. cos they tend to keep the car to themselves like it belongs to them.. am lookin for other qualified mechanics who can do a good job.... i heard it could be possible if water had entered inside by mistake or somethin... so annoyin hav a full centralized lockin system n still not able to use it.. damn...

Yeah everything is working fine apart from this one door.

It seems to be intermitent too as this morning it was working fine yet tonight it was bust again lol

Ive got the star drives for every other screw on the car but these are totally different, so if i could get one from the scrappie i still wouldnt be able to fit it.

I stripped all the door down and sprayed the unit with WD40 to see if it was a moisture problem but cant get to it to check if pins are corroded to clean them coz of fecking star drives to take unit out lol
