Spark Plug confusion vRS

Featured Replies

I have a 53 Plate vRS (AUQ) and am confused as to what plugs to use.

The Haynes manual specifies NGK PFR6Q. I asked the local motor factor for some suitable plugs and he supplied me with the same NGK PFR6Q as specified in the Haynes manual. I was quite happy until I removed the old plugs to find triple electrode jobbies NGK BKUR6ET-10. These are what was fitted by the dealer previously. The Haynes manual says these should be fitted to the AGN engine.

So, is the Haynes manual wrong, the dealer wrong, my local factor wrong or is everybody wrong and I should fit something else?

Please help.

The BKUR6ET-10 should be fitted to the following.

AKL, AEH, AEG, AQY, APK, AZH, AVU

These have a geuine part number of 101 000 033 AA

The PFR6Q NGK plug should be fitted to the AUQ, genuine part number is 101 000 066 AA.
