Ltd Edi vRS - chance of haggling?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, anyone know if skoda will haggle with vRS'? Let alone me wanting a ltd edi one... anyways i have come across an 0016 (IIRC) thats been pre registered to the garage, and it has done 3000 miles.

For starters, they wont budge on the asking price as their excuse is its that its limited and fan boys will buy it full stop... fair enough.

However, I know I have a citroen C2 GT and their worth literally nothing, its an 04 plate and i have done approx 40000 miles. Parkers states 4800 on trade in based on 20000 miles average. However, on ebay/autotrader, i have been seeing offers for 6500/7k for the GT on average 30000 miles.

To be fair im happy to get around 5.5k for it, but i probably only get that maybe on private selling. I'm going to try and get them to give me 5k before i trade in, but reckon thats pushing it?

So to all on here... pre-registered 07 ltd edi vRS on 3000 miles, at asking price of 13000, that sufficient you reckon? Then the question of how much to haggle before taking the mickey.

some of us (like me) rushed in and ordered one as soon as we could, so no surprise we didn't get a discount. But they've been available for a while now, and IIRC Skoda were hoping to have all of them sold by the end of July. seems all the "fan boys" who wanted one have had their chance.

If you read threads elsewhere here, like the last few pages of the "Limited Edition" beast, or other "Are there any SEs left" threads, you'll see people getting discounts now.

At the least, you should get something off it for not being the first registered keeper, and the miles that is has done. The earliest the garage would have got it was the start of April, when the first bunch were delivered, so the one in the garage has done around 1000 miles a month. - hardly "delivery milage"

I certainly wouldn't be paying full (new) retail price for a used one

ahhh sorry guys, didnt mean fan boys as an offence...

anyways, they are asking for 4500 on trade in for my GT. Are there still brand new ones left around then?

There are one or two brand new ones still about but you will need to be prepared to travel to buy it. look in the thread Are there any SEs left for info.

If they're asking nigh on

i have called up MK skoda branch, but they said no, and tried to fob me off with a 12k red vRS

Don't bother - wait for the MkII or look around for other hot hatches - mk1 Fabia is one of the oldest models on the road (non vRS) and things have moved on - most modern hot hatches are dynamically much better cars.
