Oil Service Display

Featured Replies

Apologies if this has been covered already.

Passed 15k miles over weekend and then "OIL" and a spanner appeared in the service display.

I'll reset the service indicator as per previous threads but I'm just curious as to why it appeared? Car was main dealer serviced at 10k miles (on fixed servicing)and I changed the oil to Castrol Edge Turbo Diesel 5w/40 505.01 less than 1k miles ago.

I guess the engine will be fine but are there any servicing/dealer issues when this (sometimes) happens?

Thanks

The engine will be fine, dont know on the service issue though, except that it is an approved oil so no isssue with that.

Cheers

Guy.

Clearly the service indicator was incorrectly set last time.
