Audi iPod Cable

I'm not 100% convinced that would be right. You'd need to see a better pic of the plug.

Have you ever installed one of these Stu?

Probably doing one tomorrow.

Interesting. I'd be interested to hear how it goes as I'm considering one for the SE. I'm a complete novice when it comes to installing any audio equipment so I hope it's easy.

Would you be so kind as to let me know how it goes please?

Incidentally, my se is going into your local dealer tomorrow for some warranty work so I'll be able to see what they are like!

I just acquired a Dension link from a friend who is selling his Audi A3. It fitted into the back of the standard vRS Symphony head unit OK. It has just one long plug instead of the three shown on Stu's site, but it seemed to fit in the CD multichanger hole just fine.

Only downside is you only get Track 1, Track 2, Track78 type info on the HU display - no support for ID3 tags unfortunately.

That sounds about right - the three plugs (sockets) lock into each other, but two of them will be blank. Only need one connector (blue - I think) to make it work.

No ID3 tags either :(

Probably doing one tomorrow.

How did the install go???

Ok, it's a simple job and I've taken plenty of pictures. A word of warning though - There are no install instructions supplied. The kit is a retail Denison unit rather than the Skoda/VAG packaged one that they used to supply, it comes with brackets if required but doesn't include the other two parts of the Mini Iso connector that you need. Luckily I had some here.

You get a flying lead which is the ground but it doesn't tell you where to connect it. It must be connected to the same ground as the radio. I used a ring tongue and fixed it to a screw on the back of the radio.

On a plus point - it does work well.

Eeek. Sounds a little dodgy to me as the novice. Are you going to stick the details / pics up on your site?

And incidentally, you went heading west on the m27 yesterday afternoon in a black octavia vrs were you?

I will hopefully get round to doing a guide yes. Too many guides and not enough time at the moment though.

If you get one I'll fit it for you, doesn't take long.

Wasn't me on the M27 - If it had Briskoda stickers it's probably Steve.

OK mate thanks.

I may take you up on that kind offer when I can scrape the cash together (bad month this month with my bumper and windscreen repairs!).

I'm not sure if the octavia I saw had window stickers but I think the reg ended in MFJ, it was driven by a man in his twenties perhaps and I think it left at fareham west (j9?). Who knows? Just thought it might be you as it was in your neck of the woods!

Not me then.
