Toyo T1-R 205/45 ZR16 87W RF

Made the move from 215/40 ZR16 86W RF.

First impression was the steering was lighter and less keen to tramline. More importantly the ride was nicer due to the higher profile. This I wanted to to the poor road surfaces I drive on to work.

Cant say I noticed a difference in road noise with the last set.

Cant really remember now what the original Michelins were like but compared to the Falkern 451's I had after them in the same size (205/45) grip is higher is both wet and dry weather and doesnt seem to be any less grip than the 215's.

Not used these tryes yet in cold weather (only had them since March) so cant comment on the performance or not.

So far covered 5.5K miles. Mainly town and motorway driving with the odd Brisk run ;). Ride is much improved over the 215/40's and the bad tramlining I had has now gone. On a past wales run (damp weather) they felt great. Could really chuck the car into the corners. Grip and traction was really impressive.

Summary  Recommend them to anyone.

Update.

Thought I'd post an update. After the first 6K miles the fronts were getting low. Dry weather both grip/traction was still good but in the wet it was a different story. Even taking it slow it was easy to exceed the grip levels. The rears on the other hand where still like new and have since lasted 20K miles. The front I stretched out to 10K (summer months) but where replaced last september (07) with a pair of brigstone ER300.

Overall summary. Their as good as others say but dont expect the fronts to last long.
