Good Vibrations - not!

Featured Replies

I wonder if any others of you have experienced this.

I have a 2.0 TDi 140 and get a rough vibration from the drivetrain in third and

fourth gear.

It most often happens when accelerating away from a roundabout or accelerating uphill after a third or fourth gear bend.

The vibration consistently starts at 1400 rpm and tails off at about 1600-1700 rpm. It gets worse the harder you accelerate. It never happens in 1st 2nd 5th or 6th gear. PS below 1400 rpm acceleration is smooth so it's not low speed judder.

Vibration feels like the engine is running on 3 or even 2 cylinders and feels like engine is vibrating severely on its mounts.

Reported this to the dealer at first service (18000 miles) he couldn't notice it on test drive (predictably). Car now done 67,000 and I just 'drive around it'

Would like to get it sorted tho' any clues?

Could be a problem with clutch or DM flywheel. I had the same problem with a Fabia a few years back.

Im sure an expert will be along shortly with a more detailed view.

Get your DMF checked, but also get them to check the driveshaft bolts are tight.

Thanks chaps. I'll have it checked.

I know it's been a long time since last post in this thread, but I'd like to know how it was solved, as I now have the same problem on my 06 TDI 140HP.

What was the fault and how did you get it sorted?

Thanks
