Stopping the boot from dumping water in?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I read somewhere that you can put sealent somewhere to stop all the water pouring into the boot when it's raining but can't find the article now.

Anyone done this? If so, where do you put it / what did you use?

So annoying, especially with all the recent weather we've been getting!

Thanks

AIUI (got an estate myself) the water is running off the hatchback when it's opened, not leaking through the seal, as a rule.

If you've got a leak with the hatch closed, that's another issue.

Sorry, its not leaking when close- I meant when you go to open the boot.

I drop my bag in there every morning, must be litres of water soaked though

Carry a squeege blade that window cleaners use?

Or just open the back door and fold the seat down ;)

Yeah!!! really annoying! i now have a cloth in the boot just to clean up the water that drops down.

I open the boot a small way let the water roll off and then open it fully solves most of the problem, not great standing there though if it is still hammering it down.
