Octy vRS Mk1 Induction Kit

Featured Replies

I know there are a lot of posts on this but I haven't been able to find the answer im after. I had my heart set on the ABD induction kit as that seems to be a popular choice but then I saw that jabba sport did one and was wondering which one would give better gains?

Thanks

Chris

Sorry this isn't really an answer but for what its worth I 'm well happy with my Carbonio from Awsome GTI. Not a big gain but I don't think you generally get a lot from induction kits, that said its certainly seems to be quicker up the revs from a standing start.

There's a debate thats been raging for years over the gains to be had from CAI's

with no real decisive conclusion.

I think it kinda comes down to personnel choice i.e. noise, power, cost

For power and cost the smoothed standar box and a good panel filter seems to be the weapon of choice according to some of the bigger bhp owners

For noise and high cost its the CAI which is a clear winner

I'll probably be shot down in flames for this but it really is up to you ultimately try searching in the octavia section and go way back to when the site started theres a hell of lot to read floating around with a lot of opinions as well

It's not going to make a lot of odds which way you go in terms of power. The point of panels or CAIs is more about increasing potential when you start in on things like remaps, hybrid turbos, FMICs...

Defin and panel filter in standard box is cheapest; Carbonio CAI is best looking, and frees up some engine bay around where the standard airbox is.

Agreed with above. I'll give anyone a tenner who honestly can prove that on the road a CAI over a panel filter makes any noticeable difference other than induction noise (says he with a ADB CAI system).

:D Hi, I bought a Mk1 Octy vRS two months ago and had a K&N air induction kit fitted (57i) before collection. Paid

And it begins

i think the dyno lottery has been won on that one tbh. If you had a full system on then yea it would be about right but thats a little to optimistic IMO

And it begins

Mike at Impossible Performance has ABD CAI's, And if it means anything, quite a few of the high powered Octavia's are using them.

I've just gone the Carbonio route... might have something to do with Awesome's specials today along with the positive reviews from those who have it.

Can't wait to get it now!

232bhp/320Nm torque from the mods you have?

No chance.

I have a full system and more mods then him and at JKM i measured 208/240....

More mods doesn't mean much at all.

If Jabba can get a proven extra 20 BHP and an extra 100 torq then i need a remap remap

Yes, no messing - with what I've stated that's on the piece of paper I have from Jabba. And, boy, do I notice the difference!

And off we go again

sorry to sound pessimistic but could you post a picture of the dynograph please? and the posted power
