Emissions light

Featured Replies

Hello, I was following a screwed impreza on my way home today, he was spurting out blue smoke and sounded like it was about to pop, Anyhow, as im driving along I notice my emissions light come on, now this light has never been on or flashed before, it literaly came on when the scuby accelerated blowing nice smoke all over.

So is my car mistaking his smoke for mine or is it me?

Who knows without a fault code check.

Thanks Lummox for your wise words that are useless. ;p

Anyhow took it to Skoda today, it was showing a oxygen fault, they think it was the screwed scuby and my ABD intake that combined to get the light, they reset it and its fine now.

So if you are follewing a screwed car smoking, leave it to get away and sit a good few car lenghts back at the lights to avoid this problem, thats if your runing a similer setup to the ABD intake that is.

:)

why does the intake type matter? It's still drawing in the same stuff in the same amounts, wherever it enters from.

Do you know exactly what fault it was? ie front lambda, rear lambda, implausible lambda signal.. etc.?

In my experience lambda faults are one of those random things that just seem to pop up from time to time.

Thanks Lummox for your wise words that are useless
