Jabba rear ARB fitted...

Featured Replies

Oh my fookin god! I'm staggered at the improvement!   Its reduced the body roll by a massive amount, kind of as expected. What i wasn't expecting was the improvement in the steering, it turns so much more sharply that i found myself turning the wheel too much at first and having to back of the steering a little!!

Recommended!!

glad you enjoying it hope fitment went ok to.

How much are they?

i think they were

Just watch it doesnt catch you out. It has its limits!!

BTW its even better with a set of Eibachs

Yes, ARB really needs a good set of tyres, as you're pushing the tyres much further due to the lacking body roll. I've found with the ARB, KW coilovers and 215 wide toyo t1-r's, the cornering is phenominal.

Kind of makes you wonder why VAG don't fit a rear ARB to the cars as standard......

If they did it would bump up the insurance group and they wouldnt sell as many

:iagree:

We have two vrs's both with eibachs but only one with the jaba rear arb and you can tell the difference big time when driving them..... the one with is so much more fun to drive round the twisties in the lakes etc!! come to think of it..... I just love driving me VRS full stop...... nearly had it 3 years now and still haven't stopped smiling :D

Hmm....so by making the car match the vRS name/ marketing claim of it being 'exciting' they'd up the insurance group if the car didn't handle like a barge any more?

It's already lowered over the standard model, has seats with big enough side bolsters to hold you in during cornering, wider wheels than the lesser models with low profile tyres.

It's odd that with all these things that simply adding a RARB would make that much of a difference, that is unless they were teetering on the edge of a higher group anyway.

Perhaps adding the RARB would've taken them into group 10?

To be honest I think it may be down more to cost and a bit of naiive thinking along the lines of "that'll do". Not fitting a wheel arch vent, rear ARB, more soundproofing etc all saves a few quid.

Does the Octy vRS have a RARB as standard or not does anyone know?

Would that be 'lift off oversteer' your refering to?

If they did a RARB it would cost them a fortune just for one model that doesn't sell in that high numbers. Not only would they need to design/develop the roll bar itself bout they also need a rear beam specific to the vrs would mounts for the roll on on it, it just wouldn't make economic sense.

what is this ARB? sorry guys, bit limited on fabia chat :) trying to catch up!

Anti Roll Bar (for rear)

thanks man

That sounds about right. Funny thing is, the vRS has sold in huge numbers.

I wonder if they've taken the press reviews (and many owners opinions) to heart and sorted out the handling for the next one? If not Jabba Luke had better get ready to prototype one for the Fabia II. :D
