EPC Light

Featured Replies

Not to sure if i have posted in the right directory

We have a Fabia 1.4 comfort X reg, the car has only done 26000 miles and has only had one owner who we bought it off. Any way the problem beeing, when we test drove it no problem, a week later we noticed the steering going occasionaly stiff when moving slowley. The power steering light came on but has now gone. Nnow have a new problem with the EPC light on all the time. Just another little thing when the car is idling the revs jump up and down on there own.

I hope this isnt going to be an expensive fault, can any body advise.

EPC could be a problem with throttle body if the idle is unstable.

Need a fault code check to be sure, are you brake lights working?

Sounds like mine I have noticed the revs jumping at Junctions especially when the headlights are on and the engine sounds louder and a bit rougher. I just put it down to the steering sensor as it only seems to happen when the lights are on.

I have a brake light out at the moment what effect does this have.

my octy o4 cut out today on a main road the epc light and another one i didnt see which one it was came on too. i coasted to a safe place switched the engine off and on and it was ok but woried it will do it again. it would not rev just idled like it was posessed.

Sounds like an issue with the throttle body or the pedal, a fault code check will help.

I had a similar thing - just changed the brake light switch and all was okay!

You didnt text Johnny Vaughn about this this morning did you?

The answers people were texting in were f'ing hilarious!
