What does 06-10 mean after the fault code 01288? (power steering problems)

Featured Replies

Hi all, what does...

06-10

...mean after the fault code?

The power steering is working intermittently on my x-reg Fabia and a quick scan with VAG-COM shows:

01288 - Terminal 30: Steering Assist

06-10 - Signal to high - Intermittent

The Ross Tech wiki page says battery voltage too low, but that has 07-10 after the fault code!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Either the battery is at fault. or YAW angle sensor.

does the steering warning light come on when u 1st start the car? if so change the battery. if not go for YAW angle sensor.

Yes the light comes on when ii first put turm the ignition on then stays on when the engine has started.

There is a rather corroded wire at the battery so I have cleaned this up best I can and will get a new one asap. The light hasn't come on again since I cleaned it up, so good sign!
