Problem diagnosed

Featured Replies

Loss of power, loads of black smoke even doing 30mph, engine juddering, very poor fuel consumption.

The vRS has started getting worse and worse.

Took the car to the garage, VAGCOM found no problems. Contacted Skoda and they said it might be the gasket on the EGR and will send a replacement (mine is an 04?).

Hopefully had a young mechanic there who had a bit about him. His first thought was a pipe loose.

Closer inspection finds a hole in the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler so no back pressure, part will be here on Friday.

How did it get there in the first place? It is not a split but a jagged hole, my thoughts that it happend when they changed the turbo, when I received the car back after fitting I noticed a FFFRRRRR noise coming from the engine and was told that it was the turbo kicking in?!?!?!

Anyways will be getting 130bhp back soon, will have to learn to drive it all over again and can't wait :).

Thought I would post this incase anyone else has the same problem in the future.

They are quite rigid plastic pipes, normally quite strong.

I noticed a FFFRRRRR noise coming from the engine and was told that it was the turbo kicking in?!?!?!

Pipe rubbing against a moving part methinks ?

I can hear the turbo whistling away when it kicks in, but sometimes I get a louder noise when on full boost and am sure it sounds like air escaping from somewhere. I wouldnt have a clue where to look for pipes leaking?
