Anyone found some proper instructions on how do perform one?

AudiWorld Forums: "Butt Dyno" Instructions

I've only found that but for a complete novice it doesn't really explain what you need to do.

Wow, I do like to start a lot of threads :rofl:

Have you done the block 120 -bhp/torque test yet, Its cool

Nope, no idea how to do it or what it does!! :o

What does the "turbo" button do and how do I log the data?!

While my remap was being developed I did a lot of runs using Vag-Com and both the ButtDyno spreadsheet and K-Power . I found it impossible to get repeatable results i.e. several runs on the same day always gave significantly different (but plausible) results.

From the Butt-Dyno listing you gave at Audi world:

"Find a straight, flat road with no traffic. Log Group 005 as you do a full throttle run from idle to redline in THE HIGHEST GEAR THAT WILL STILL BE UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT AT REDLINE . At redline, push in the clutch and allow the car to coast as far as possible."

He then gives the formulas to use to calculate the power.

Ok, so i've logged group 5... anyone good at maths or would be kind enough to work it out for me?! :)

I'm not sure what you've got in group 5 but:

1 KM/hr = 0.621371 MPH

1 HP = 0.745699 Kw

1 Nm = 0.737562 lb/ft

HTH.
