I have a Pionner AVIC-X1BT and want to install it in my Octavia Elegance 1.9 TDI from 2007. The Display unit is no problem, but where have you put the hide away and bluetooth adaptor? looking forward to hear from some with a good soloution.

It kinda depends on the size of the Unit and amount of cable they give you John.

There is some spare space behind the Climatronic panel. If you are using the Skoda single Din converter you'll need to remove the dash pod to run the power wire which will reveal some more useable space. Failing that there is loads near the fusebox under the steering wheel.

I am about to do the same install in my Octavia vRS.

I think I am going to do the same thing in mine.

An alternative might be to get the Autoleads fascia adapter. Then you could fit the X1 screen in the upper DIN slot, and the hideaway underneath. You'd need to get a blanking plate for the second DIN opening, but these are pretty easy to find.
