The following faults appeared on my sister in laws Fabia using Vag Com:-

Address 8 One fault found 00818 sensor for evaporater outlet temp (G263)

30-10 Open or short to B+

The air con is definately not performing as well as my wifes Fabia, any ideas what needs to be looked at by the dealer before warranty expire

Address 46 One fault found 01044 Control module incorrectly coded 35-00

Is this central locking or the electric windows as both occasionally have a

mind of their own

Any pointers gratefully received. New to Vag Com and would like to use it more.

This info is taken from VW's Electronic Repair and Workshop Manual Info (Erwin) and dependent on Engine type and system fitted but as far as I can make out

G263 is Evaporator Outflow temperature Sensor and is part of the Climatronic system its exact location is unclear but it is wired from pin 7 on the 20 Pin connector from the climatronic control unit with a white and red wire on one the unit side and earthed along with the Ambient temp sensor in the front bumper and the sunlight sensor on the dash it would appear that you have a wiring fault to this sensor.

The 1044 code is one which I have come accross a lot on older Audis and translates as "Control Unit does not correspond to vehicle equipment fitted" or "control unit supplied is not programmed or fully programmed" to eliminate this fault VW recommend replacement of Unit although this code is not a faulty unit (code 65535).
