Been pikey modding!

Featured Replies

Been indulging in a little spot of making good, and pikey modding this afternoon.

As many may know my front left wheelarch was made of two halves of two rather fooked liners (the good halfs I kept) - and the one nearest the front had destructed a bit when it attaches to the bumper. I got a free one from local scrapper as it was also tatty in a few places. Basically, I took a section out the old one, from down at the front near the bumper, and attached it in a pikey vent mod style to the new liner, so that it effectively overlapped it and doubled the thickness. Then, a small slit put through both with a knife and several small screws were used to keep them together. Made it very strong.

Finally, once the complete liner (was OK everywhere else) was refitted, I was then left with trying to attach the sticky out bit to the bumper. I really struggled here as the liner was a little tatty here too. BUT, thankfully the new liner came out with one of those square plastic bits attached to the screw still. So I nabbed it, and the screw, and utilising a penny washer, managed to securely attach the front of the liner to the bumper.

All being well, on this year's Czech trip, both wheelcarch liners won't leap into my tyres again!:o

Also, repainted my back calipers in a bright red metal paint. Took several coats as it was a little thin, but they now at least match the brembos as close as I could (given it was a
