This could be a stupid question.....

Featured Replies

But, is it possible to send web pages from your favourites to another computer? I need to send quite a few from home to my work computer via email. Also, if it is possible does it give you access to the whole website or can you only access the page that was sent?

I never have made out I'm a computer buff :D

You can just cut and past the URL from the address bar for each web page.....?

Chris

I just did a screenshot of my favourites when I swapped - dumped that into a word document, and stuck that on the external HDD I was using to take over other data to the new computer. :) On the new PC I just used the names for reference and googled & refavourited them all. :)

There's a favourites folder on c:documents and settings/your name that has everything you need

I wish I could say I understood any of that :(

As stated above use my computer to go to C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Favorites\ in there you will find all your favourites which you can attach to email or copy to a usb drive.

I went to C: and looked for documents/settings. There was only the heading documents and certainly nothing with my name in or any favourites

I've included a couple of screen dumps so you can see better where you need to look.

Thanks for trying but they've come out all blurry.

Do you have a magnifying glass with a plus in it? If so, click on the picture and it should expand it slightly and bring it into focus.

What version of windows are you using?

Found them through doing a search. :)

Thanks all

Better still start using something like del.icio.us - and your favourites will follow you wherever you go.

It really was quite simple in the end. I copied and pasted the links of the pages into an email and sent it to my work email address. The NHS email doesn't like attachments which is a pain when I want to use one of my pictures as my background.

Sounds like you're sorted now, Pixi, but if you did use firefox, in a similar way to Nick's excellent delicious suggestion, I use foxmarks which is a firefox plugin that auto-syncs favourites (or bookmarks as everyone else calls them!)
