Whats a console bush

Featured Replies

I have just been to the dealers as my front suspension and steering is making a grinding noise and sometimes a popping noise when going down the motorway. They told me i need to change my console bushes and they are still trying to find what the grinding noise is. My car has only done 13000 so why do they need replacing or is it a design fault???

The console bush is a suspension bush.

Pretty well covered with pictures as well if you try the search.

13k is very early for a change.

If you look under the car at either side, there will be something that looks like the picture below.

They are called voided console bushes and are fitted to all the cars using the polo 9n platform. (fabia ibiza A2~) they are quite rubbish and tend to break quite early, My brothers ibiza had 10k on and they had gone.

You can get the non voided ones off the seat ibiza cupra (well covered search cupra consoles) which are much better so ive been told ;)

thanks for your help. i did mention the cupra bushes to him but he said i would have to pay as its not part of the warranty. i would imagine the cupra bushes aint that expensive.

the general manager is a good mate of mine so im hoping i will only have to pay 12 quid for the bushes and the labour will be covered with warranty. i def need the jabba arb as i get so frustrated with the furby on backs roads.

It's a common fault on these cars... mine went (and most peoples on here too at some point) they wouldn't do mine under warrenty, but some people have had them done under warrenty... good luck!
