Possible sources for a rear screen?

Featured Replies

Some nasty, thieving scrote tried to steal my laptop from the car last night, and in the process smashed the rear screen on my estate.

Autoglass tell me that they've never even heard of sunset glass, so don't have anything in stock, and Skoda UK don't have any either.

As I'm supposed to be going away on holiday tomorrow morning, I'm a little bit miffed.

Skoda tell me they might be able to get a screen by Tuesday next week, so I'm on the hunt for one from somewhere else.

Does anyone know of an alternative supplier who might stock such a thing?

The Skoda part number is: 1Z9845049B

Thanks,

Andy.

That's a real pi$$er Andy.

Perhaps they'd be willing to install a plain glass one in as a temp repair for you.

Thanks Stu.

I've come to the conclusion that I'll just have to wait. As it's a company car, the lease folks won't authorise what you suggest with a normal screen.

The AA have just taken the car away for storage, until the new screen arrives.

Hopefully, it won't be too long.

The Skoda supply channel does it again!

Apparently, my glass that was going to be with me on Tuesday next week is now delayed until the 24th (at the earliest).

Oh well, back to my Vectra hire car :-(

Ouch!!

A vectra hire car you lucky, lucky thing!

I endured one for 3 months while the L&K was on order.

I hope they sort your car out ASAP mate.

It could be worse. I've got a car, and I can go on holiday.

It's very weird driving a petrol after 5 years of diesels, though.

Andy.
