In my previous message i was asking how much money you've spent or will spend on your car. Some of you do spend a lot on it indeed. I suppose it's a passion. To be honest i wouldn't do it, it's not my thing, but i respect people who do if they love it. I've got a fabia vRS SE, so it's already quite complete anyway (leather seats,...). By the way, I might sound ignorant, but what's a remap (sorry, i don't understand this word, i'm french)? Is it sthg to do with the revs?

Thanks for your replies guys,

have a good week-end.

A remap is a computer adjustment to the way the cars ECU controls various aspects of the engines operation. Varying the timing and quantities of fuel can produce more power, better economy or more torque. The standard map applied by Skoda/VAG to their engines is largely set up to get economy at the speeds quoted internationally for advertising and qualification into governmental taxation brackets. Ignoring these requirements significant improvements can be made making the car quicker or more economical across the whole rev/speed range.

If you think these guys spend a lot of money, you should see what Subaru owners are like
