Best way to clean calipers?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

My green calipers are pretty grimey, whats the best way to bring them up?!

Have u tried Gunk? its in a orange spray can with black writing on it, think its for cleaning engines but brings alloys up a treat, wud of thought it wud b good on calipers.

hope this helps

i took my wheels off the other day and used polishing compound to polish them back to red! problem with coloured brakes is they get hot andthe paint goes soft then when brake dust sticks to it and the calipers cool down and hardens again then the black dust is stuck and impossible to move

Get some brake cleaner from a proper motor factors (not halfords!!). It normally costs about

beezer 333.4bhp & 326.6lb ft! jesus christ!!!! how do mange that!

manage sorry!

IHI turbo conversion.

Bit of neat Virosol should do the trick surely? Brush it on and agitate in into the caliper surface then leave some to soak into grime for a while. Just wash offf and it should bring most of it off.

Word of warning though, remove the pads first hey? Better not to contaminate them with whatever product you choose.
